It Is You

My eyes closed, and it was you.

My eyes open, and it is still you.

My body reacts- it’s chemical.

My heart pounds- it’s sentimental.

My face gets hot- it’s inevitable.

My hands roam, and your name escapes my throat in a whispered rasp…

All in slow motion and way too fast.

For me, this is almost ineffable; with all the foolish things I let spill out of my heart from my lips.. this … leaves me tongue tied.

So I let my body speak for me-

In warmth and flushes,

Bitten lip and sighs,

Whispered dripped ecstasy.

It was you.

It is you.

My body cannot deny it.
